A tutorial, streamed Zazen and Happy Birthday Buddha!
This Tuesday at 1900hrs BST we have the tutorial for module 3 and 3.1 for Living with Uncertainty. These two modules take a look at the practice paths for the arhat and bodhisattva paths respectively. So we can talk about daily life practice, so any questions about how to start a Zen practice please bring them along.
We also have our usual streamed Zazen on Thursday 1900hrs BST.
Plus at the end of the week don't forget it's the Buddha's birthday on 8th April. No cards or presents needed but you might like to light some incense or to sit a little longer or do some chanting in commemoration of this event in the NW Buddhist tradition to which Japanese Zen belongs. Some may be wondering why Zen doesn't celebrate Wesak in May like the Southern Buddhist tradition. Well, it's probably because Northern climes have a greater contrast between light and dark seasons and right now in the North we have Spring. Let's see... Buddha's birthday, Easter and Spring. There is definitely a theme going on here!
