The Guernsey Buddhist Society was founded in 1986 by the late Tim Blake who in 1998 wrote First Steps in Buddhist Practice.
The Guernsey Buddhist Society Zen Group continues to be run in close association with The Buddhist Society, founded by Christmas Humphreys and The Zen Centre, founded by Daiyu Myokyo Zenji, in London.
In Guernsey the local Buddhist Society run regular meetings for meditation and practice guidance on Tuesday evenings, the last Thursday of each month and a silent day sesshin (retreat), each quarter.
